EPCs
We offer EPCs for all types of properties whether it be residential, new builds or commercial. Keep up to date with laws and regulations by updating your EPC or use as a guide to making your home more energy efficient.
Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) were introduced in 2007 to show the energy efficiency of properties and in 2008 became a legal requirement when selling or renting. As of April 2018 privately rented properties now have to meet the ‘Minimum Level of Energy Efficiency’ standard of at least an E rating, properties that don’t meet this must make improvements to increase the rating (unless they are deemed exempt).
On the day of inspection, your energy assessor will calculate a floor plan, assess the property making notes and taking photo evidence of factors that contribute to the energy efficiency such as glazing, wall construction, heating systems etc. Detailed information of the property may be required to help to produce a more accurate report. After lodgement the certificate will be on the EPC Register ready to be downloaded instantly.
